Publication preview (the full version is only available in Romanian).

This year signaled a continuously worsening economic situation in Moldova. According to our estimates from the previous issues of the publication, Moldova's economy constantly slows amid internal vulnerabilities, political uncertainty, but especially due to the adverse economic situation in the CIS countries.

Hence, the Economic Leading Indicator (ELI), monthly calculated by EXPERT-GRUP, marks a decline for the fourth consecutive month, reaching 91,1 points in May 2014 (down from 94,6 points in April 2014 and 100,4 points in March 2014). This steady declined of the Indicator shows the persistance of several major risks that could jeopardize the economic growth this year.
