Economic Commentary, no. 117
A recent decision of the Moldovan Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family has drawn our attention. The Ministry informs that on 1 of October, when the International Day of Elderly is celebrated, the Moldovan state will allocate money for material support of the elderly. This analysis unveils the risks related to how this decision is proposed to be implemented and proposes an alternative way of allocating the money in a socially more optimal form.
