Economic Commentary, no. 107

The commercial banks rating that Expert-Grup developed reveals important shifts during the second quarter of the year, depending on how different commercial banks recover from the crisis and what strategies do they adopt. In general, the resumption of the economic growth allowed for an improvement of the financial situation of almost all banks and narrowed the gap among the banks. However, a small number of banks fare a more difficult situation, calling for a closer attention from the part of the National Bank and for reviewing the corporate strategies. Indeed, the key factor of success for any financial institution is to find the right balance between solvability, profitability, efficiency and portfolio’s risk.
