Project title: Enabling Environment for Successful Enterprise in Moldova;
Implementation period: March- June 2013;
Funded by: National Confederation of Employers of Moldova;
Project goal: Identifying the most severe constraints which the local enterprises encounter in doing business and advising the Confederation of the strategic options to alleviate the constraints;
Main activities:
- Designing a questionnaire to conduct a business survey on the most binding constraints;
- Forming a representative sample of companies to interview;
- Conducting face-to-face interviews;
- Analyzing the data collected;
- Conducting secondary data desk research;
- Compiling a report compiled synthesizing primary and secondary data.
Main outputs and outcomes:
- Questionnaire dealing with 6 major obstacles in doing business in Republic of Moldova;
- Interviews with 205 companies representing different sizes, regions and economic sectors;
- Data collected offering a comprehensive view on the business conditions and complementing the traditional reports from the World Bank, ILO and other sources;
- An end-of-project report will present an analysis of the results of survey and complementing the secondary data.
Project expected impact: This project was designed to help National Confederation of Employers of Moldova to identify the key binding constraints limiting the development of the business in Republic of Moldova and to develop a strategic roadmap engaging stakeholders in improving the business climate.
