Project goal: Support development of the Moldova State of the Country Report 2013 as a nation-wide platform for public debates among authorities, local businesses, civil society and international community in elaboration of policies and prioritization of the key public sectors which need assistance for further development;
Main activities:
- Developing the SCR 2013 Position Paper to include key ideas, hypotheses, and data;
- Surveying policy experts, analysts and commentators, politicians and high-level public officials regarding the country development priorities;
- Conducting sociological survey “Moldova 2013: State of the country and people”;
- Preparing the “Moldova 2013 State of the Country Report” in Romanian, English and Russian;
- Organizing a series of regional roundtables to discuss the main findings of the SCR 2013 (in Cahul, Comrat, Balti, Ungheni and Soroca;
- Organizing roundtables with representatives of the political parties, members of the Parliament and Government and donors;
- Organizing the international conference “Moldova 2013: Assessing Country Risks and Opportunities”.
Main outputs and outcomes:
The main output of this project is State of the Country Report 2013, which is a clear, evidence-based and objective analysis of the Moldova’s situation in eight areas: foreign policy, environment and natural resources, politics, technological, economic, human capital and demographic, social and socio-political. SCR 2013 will include also a special issue, which is Political Economy of Reforms in Moldova.
Project expected impact:
The SCR 2013 will offer analytical inputs to initiate public discussions on Moldova’s development priorities and imperatives in several policy areas. The report will be aim at identifying the short term risks while offering valuable policy advices that will enable public authorities and civil society alike to understand the elements that affect Moldova’s development and modernization strategies and in identifying areas that require further action.
