Starting with January 1 2014, Russia has entered into force the new tightened migration rules, as a reaction of the country's elites at a series of both internal and external challenges. The economic commentary offers some insights on the consequences of these changes on the Moldovan economy, taking into consideration that 2/3 of the country's immigrants work in Russia and the recent expulsion of 21.500 Moldovans from Russia.
