This workshop is an activity following up the 2012 National Human Development Report addressing the topic of European Aspirations and Human Development of Republic of Moldova.

The goal of the event is three-fold:

  1. to discuss how the Government can better assess and communicate the impact of European integration on the human development;
  2. to convene on how to get more people more involved into the European integration process
  3. to discuss how to identify and address the needs of particularly vulnerable groups, considering the balance of risks and opportunities European integration involves.

Key questions and issues to be addressed during the workshop:

  • How to ensure that European integration policies consider the interests of people and integrates the principles of human development?
  • What do people believe and know about the European integration process, which are key expectations, fears, and beliefs?
  • How to improve the communication with the people on the European integration agenda at different levels of Government?
  • How to frame the European integration policy into the ‘real life’ and how to explain it in simple terms, accessible to the people?
  • How to get the people more involved in the policy and decision-making processes?
  • Are there any particularly vulnerable groups affected by the European integration process and how to address the interests of these groups?
