While many countries, including those in the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood, started to lift the anti-coronavirus preventive measures, the political, social, and economic consequences of the pandemic remain yet to be seen. It is already apparent that the Eastern Partnership economies are being hit as hard, if not harder than the EU.

On June 17, the “3 DCFTAs” Project, in cooperation with the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels (UTTLOB) with the support of the EU, is organising an online-webinar “Economic and Social Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Eastern Partnership Countries”.

Experts from six EU’s Eastern partners will evaluate hardship situations in the respective countries focusing on the following issues:

• Preventive measures and its macroeconomic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
• Impact of the pandemic on important sectors (industry, agriculture, services, enterprise sector, SMEs, banking sector)
• Social impact (public health sector, unemployment, basic necessities supply)
