Despite the progress achieved in the energy legislation over the past few years, additional efforts are needed to improve the tariff policy for electricity and gas. Both energy sector actors and civil society representatives believe that the tariff setting mechanism, the criteria applied to suppliers, and the real decision-making independence of the sector regulator over policy makers need to be adjusted.

These issues were discussed at the workshop "How to Accelerate Real Reforms in the Energy Sector", organized by Independent Analytical Center "Expert-Grup" on Monday, March 12, 2018. The event was based on the "Chatham House" rules, which facilitated more nuanced discussions on energy issues.

At the event was presented the policy brief on ”More transparent tariffs - an additional solution for energy security”.
